Our First Time Managers Programme called The Lifeboat Programme is aimed at first-time, mid-level Managers who have a minimum of 1 person reporting into them. This 5-day programme will present topics that are anchored in the company’s core competencies; and are of the standard that will engage and motivate first-time managers. The programme is named the Lifeboat because it suggests that as a Manager, you must realise that your key task is helping others to execute their core tasks and meet their objectives. This will be a blended learning approach aimed at giving Managers every opportunity to put what they are learning and observing into practice in their everyday work.
Ultimately, this programme will serve as a reflection to the participants of their current style of Management and to have the courage and competence to continually improve and reflect on their skills in order to uphold the values and behaviours of the business. There is a strong emphasis on the importance of balancing administrative and project progress while also motivating and managing people.

 

   AIM OF THE PROGRAMME

 

The aim of the programme is to give the attendees an increased understanding of the Core Principles of Management. Using Conflict Management strategies to resolve issues with other levels from junior managers to stakeholders. Develop your competency in planning and organising team members. Be that inspiration to others in your organisation.

PROGRAMME METHODOLOGY

The programme themes have core topics with each topic having key learning outcomes. Attendees will be expected to participate in learning before, during and after the programme to encourage maximum transfer of learning. The style will be participative, facilitative and regular activities, discussion and contextualised learning conversations.

 ATTENDEE SUPPORTS
During the programme, we host check-in webinar sessions to support and evaluate its progress. We give the attendees access to email and phone support throughout the programme and the attendees’ Direct Manager is equipped with questions and tools with which to support them back in their role.
