Competency based interviewing is based on the belief that past behaviour is the best predictor of future behaviour and performance on the job.
It is used to assess how candidates previously reacted in specific situations.
We want candidates to draw on their own real experiences (work experiences and in life outside work) which required them to act and behave in a certain way, thus demonstrating a proficiency level under a given competency.
